A former Watertown broadcaster was awarded the 2025 South Dakota Broadcasters Association Distinguished Service Award at its annual state leadership conference in Sioux Falls.

Jan Robson, formerly of KXLG in Watertown, was recognized for her decades of achievement.

The SDBA Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual whose life’s work has enriched the broadcasting industry, inspired its commercial advertisers or who has nurtured their community, the release stated.

Robson started her broadcast career in Huron at KOKK after graduating from the Brown Institute in Minneapolis in 1979. She moved to KMSD in Milbank, then to KWAT & KIXX in Watertown, the release stated. She joined KXLG in 2009 as one of the station’s first hires.
