MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A death investigation is underway outside a barber shop along Chelsea Avenue.

The Memphis Police Department says a “dead on arrival: unknown” call came in at 4:51 p.m. Tuesday from Sim’s Unisex Style Shop in the Hollywood area.

Officers arrived to find one man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Action News 5’s crews on site saw officers moving back and forth from the front of the business to a gated portion at the back of the property.

Several officers were also wearing masks.

The victim’s suspected cause of death has not been released.

The department reports that this is an ongoing death investigation.
