Vincent Pollifrone and Andrew Freid were the goalscorers for Marlboro, as the 12th seeded Mustangs defeated Ranney, 2-0, in opening-round play in the Shore Conference Tournament in Marlboro.

Konstantinos Mastrokalos made five saves for the Mustangs, who will face fifth-seeded Holmdel Thursday in a second-round game.

Rishab Krishnan had a pair of assists for Marlboro (5-3-4).

Ranney (10-5) has lost four of five games since the end of its nine-game win streak.
