EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The city of Edinburg and Hidalgo County have announced traffic and parking changes due to the upcoming construction of the Downtown Parking Garage Project. Construction is set to begin in early November at the corner of McIntyre Street and North Closner Boulevard.

To ease construction, the lot will be closed to the public on Nov. 5, with construction starting Nov. 6.

One southbound lane of N. Closner Blvd. and a section of W. Kuhn St. will be closed to allow construction crews access. Pedestrian traffic will be rerouted to N. 10th Ave., where sidewalks have been expanded for safety.

Temporary signs will guide pedestrians to the courthouse. Jurors and the public are directed to park in the L2 and L3 lots along N.
