Koral Tipton was 11 year old when she dialed 9-1-1. Her dad, Dean Tipton, just wrestled a knife out of an intruder's hands— Ronald Exantus' hands.

It was Dec. 7, 2015. Officers with the Versailles Police Department had Exantus on the ground. Dean Tipton's son, Logan, was stabbed.

"Imagine waking up every morning with what happened that night replaying in your head," Koral Tipton told WHAS11. "Hearing my brother, screaming for help."

Dean Tipton recalled that he didn't know his son was injured.

"He was laying there. And I grabbed him. I'm holding him. I'm screaming for help. He's gasping for air," he said. "It was five seconds after I got my hands on him that he just—he looked at me, he closed his eyes, and he was gone."
