WESTMINSTER — Although typically reliant on its defense, Legacy found more than enough help from its offense against crosstown rival Broomfield on Tuesday evening.

In a battle between two Class 5A boys soccer behemoths, the Lightning received a career performance from junior striker Channing Schmidt, who scored two goals within the first 10 minutes of action at North Stadium in Westminster. The early padding held strong as Legacy remained undefeated on the season following a 3-1 victory.

Legacy (9-0-3, 1-0-2 5A Granite Peaks League) head coach Bryan Johnston was pleased, of course, but remains focused on the big picture.
