Meghan McCain is opening up about how pregnancy prevented her from being by her mother's side following a "mild" stroke earlier this month.

McCain, 40, a television personality and the daughter of late Sen. John McCain and Cindy McCain, said that she had been waiting to share more about her 71-year-old mother's condition as she and her siblings worked to get all the information.

"My mother, Cindy McCain, who you all may or may not know, she did, in fact, suffer from a mild stroke last week," she said on an Oct. 14 episode of the " Citizen McCain " podcast, which she hosts. "I didn't talk about it on my social media because my brothers and my family and I were trying to, you know, figure out what was going on."
