Garrett volleyball won 20 matches during the regular season, but the Railroaders knew that's not enough to impress everybody.

Here's something that might: Garrett struggled in its first set against Leo in the Class 3A Concordia Sectional opener on Monday, but the Railroaders roared back and won the next three sets to claim a 3-1 victory (15-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-22) and advance to Saturday's semifinals.

It was the first postseason match the Railroaders (21-8) have won since 2020.

"We're feeling pretty good. We definitely had a lot of doubts going into this game, a lot of people not thinking very highly of us," senior outside hitter Sarah DePew said. "We definitely had a lot of motivation coming into this."
