CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - KRCU Public Radio celebrated with confetti after meeting the largest fundraising goal in the station’s history.

General Manager Dan Woods said they receive about $150,000 every year from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which is about 25 percent of their budget.

And he said that due to the federal funding cut, they had to increase their goal from $57,000 to $100,000.

Woods said he is grateful listeners responded in such a big way.

“It makes us realize that people value what we do, they appreciate what service the station provides,” he said. “And it tells us that we’re on the right track and we’ll keep doing what we’re doing because listeners enjoy it and they like it.”

Since KRCU exceeded its goal, Woods will have to eat one hundred 100 Grand candy
