Greenskeepers can't irrigate as regularly as they'd like, course general manager Paul Duda said. The irrigation system draws water from the Clinton River, which winds through the golf course. This summer, the river's flow has been so low that the course's 600-head sprinkler system gets clogged with silt if greenskeepers turn it on.
"When it goes into a drought like this, everyone that's in this business has had to make sacrifices," Duda said.
