For a team having a 1-5 season , there is one identifiable piece of the UTEP football team that is going well.

As the Miners head off to Houston to take on 0-6 Sam Houston State Wednesday night, Oct. 13, they are playing elite defense .

That doesn't show up very well in the bottom line statistics, where UTEP is 58th nationally out of 134 teams, but a defense continually sent back out on the field because its struggling offense can't take the pressure off it, passes the eye test.
