PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - A fisherman was saved after he became stranded near the Happy Hollow Boat Ramp in Putnam County, the Putnam County Rescue Squad said in a Facebook post.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Putnam County Rescue Squad Swiftwater Team responded to a call for a fisherman who became stranded as the river rose rapidly.

Emergency officials were able to bring the man back to shore without injury.
“Rising water levels can happen fast, turning a calm fishing trip into a dangerous situation in moments,” PCRS said. “We’re proud of our team’s swift and professional response and want to remind everyone to always stay alert to changing river conditions and never underestimate the power of moving water.”
