NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Metro Nashville Police Department is adding a brand new precinct in Antioch, and it’s set to open in less than a month.
The Southeast Precinct will be staffed by about 80 officers and will cover about 80 square miles in South Nashville and Antioch. The project has been in the works for years, and the new building will finally open its doors in early November.
Tuesday night, community leaders held a safety town hall meeting in South Nashville to hear from residents about what issues they hope the new precinct will address.
Residents shared concerns about everything from slow response times to car break-ins to reckless driving. All things Metro Council Member Joy Styles hopes will be improved by the new precinct.
