ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – A school board candidate in southeast New Mexico is apologizing tonight after using a homophobic slur while out campaigning.

Sarah McArthur: Just recently retired, like five years ago, so I have time now to be in school board.

That's Sarah McArthur visiting homes last week, seeking votes for a school board seat. However, one interaction took an unexpected turn.

Tracy Delarosa: We don't want Emerge candidates in New Mexico. McArthur: Well, we don't want MAGA f****ts either hahaha.

"I gave her the opportunity and asked her a question, and she didn't like my response, and she let me know that I guess," said Delarosa.
