No official groundbreaking date set
ADAMS TWP — After finances caused a delay earlier this year, the Mars Area School Board moved forward with a multimillion dollar renovation that will transform the district’s elementary school.
Board members during a meeting Tuesday, Oct. 14, unanimously voted to award a series of contracts related to the project based on recommendations from project managers Thomas & Williamson.
The awards included construction contracts for general construction, roofing, food service equipment, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC and electrical.
The combined value of all contract awards totals just under $21.4 million, with Thomas Construction’s general construction contract accounting for about $14.2 million of that number.
