India has unveiled an ambitious five-year plan to double its agricultural exports, focusing particularly on increasing rice exports. Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, announced the initiative in a video statement, emphasizing the dual strategy of export growth and a strengthened public distribution system to safeguard citizens.
At the heart of this plan is the Bharat International Rice Conference (BRIC) 2025, which serves as a pivotal step towards achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The conference, organized by the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF), underscores the nation's commitment to becoming a global leader in rice trade by enhancing quality, safety, and affordability.
Minister Joshi highlighted India's position as the largest
