NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed the bursting of green crackers in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) for Diwali between October 18 and 21. According to the top court’s order, firecrackers will be permitted from 6 am to 8 am and again from 8 pm to 10 pm. The sale of green crackers will also be allowed only at designated sites between 15 and 25 October. The top court warned that crackers smuggled into Delhi-NCR cause more damage than green firecrackers and emphasised the need for a balanced approach, permitting celebrations in moderation without compromising the environment.
