KOCHI: Former Prime Minister of Kenya Raila Odinga died in Kochi. He was 80. He died while undergoing treatment in Koothattukulam. He suffered a cardiac arrest during a morning stroll. He reached Koothattukulam a few days back with his daughter and a personal doctor.

Odinga has a long association with Sreedhareeyam Hospital in Koothattukulam. His daughter was treated here after she lost her eye sight. The body is kept at the Devi Matha Hospital. The procedures for taking the body to Kenya are progressing.

Raila Odinga had served as the Prime Minister of Kenya from 2008-2013.
