ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington University has released the final enrollment numbers for the semester, indicating several positive trends in the challenging higher education landscape.

Hung Dang, Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, highlighted the encouraging data from the 10-day census delivered by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness Research and Planning last week.

Dang emphasized the university's focus on Washington residents. He noted that 95% of first-time college students and 87% of all transfer students come from the Evergreen State.

The retention rate for first-time college students increased from 70% to 73%.

Additionally, Dang pointed out improvements in enrollment decline, which is now at minus 2.3% compared to a high of minus 9% in fall 2021.
