Heavy delays are building on the A299 Thanet Way this morning (Wednesday, October 15) following a multi-vehicle crash.

The busy road has been blocked coastbound between Potten Street Road, at the Hedgend Industrial Estate turn off, and the A28 Canterbury Road, at the St-Nicholas-At-Wade roundabout.

Kent County Council's (KCC) Highways department reports that the collision has involved three vehicles. Officers from Kent Police have been called to the scene.

Drivers have been warned to "expect long delays on the approach". KCC Highways has branded this an incident of "high severity".

It is not yet known when the route is expected to be cleared or if any injuries have been reported following the crash. KentLive has approached the emergency services for further information.
