A Major League scout predicted this past summer that Yankees hitting coach James Rowson would be a big-league manager someday.
Maybe by Opening Day 2026.
The Twins are beginning a manager search and Rowson is among at least three candidates who will be interviewed, the Minnesota Star-Tribune reported Tuesday night.
Red Sox bench coach Ramon Vazquez and former Pirates manager Derek Shelton also are in the running to succeed Rocco Baldelli, who was fired after seven seasons in the Twins dugout.
Rowson, 49, has no managing experience, but he was the Marlins bench coach from 2020-21 for manager Don Mattingly.
