CLEVES, Ohio (WXIX) - An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was fatally hit by a vehicle in western Hamilton County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies and fire crews responded to U.S. 50 near Ohio 128 and a Kroger store, right on the border of Cleves and Whitewater Township, at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, dispatchers say.

The pedestrian was hit on the bridge and pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff’s officials tell FOX19 NOW.

Deputies blocked the area for several hours overnight while the sheriff’s Traffic Unit reconstructed the scene.

All roads reopened around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators have spoken with the driver of the striking vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

The name and age of the pedestrian haven’t been released.

No charges have been filed yet.
