Incumbent Mayor Mitch Colvin and Mayor Pro Tem Kathy Keefe Jensen emerged from a crowded field of 10 contenders to win Fayetteville's Oct. 7 primary election for mayor.
Now, the two will face off in the general election.
Jensen, 60, a Fayetteville native and business owner, announced May 12 her intention to seek the office of mayor, her first time running for mayor after six terms serving as the District 1 representative on the City Council.
Colvin, 52, and like Jensen, a business owner and Fayetteville native, was a surprise last-minute addition to the mayoral race after announcing in June that he would not seek reelection . He filed for a fifth term on July 18, the last day of the filing period.
