WASHINGTON — On Monday, Oct. 13, 53-year-old John Robert Holland died from his injuries that he sustained after a driver struck him on Sept. 29.

On that day, at around 8:18 p.m. MPD responded to a crash that involved a pedestrian at the intersection of Montana and Rhode Island Avenues. When the officers arrived, they found Holland unconscious but breathing after learning he was struck by a driver. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Holland was hit by a driver in a 2009 Dodge Ram that was towing a cargo trailer that was heading northbound in the 1400 block of Montana Avenue, Northeast. The driver hit Holland as they were making a left turn going westbound on 1300 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northeast. The driver remained on the scene.
