Actor Chris Pratt’s latest film had him literally strapped in — by choice. The 46-year-old revealed that he asked to be physically confined to a chair throughout filming for his upcoming sci-fi thriller Mercy, which releases in January. Pratt plays a detective accused of murdering his wife in a near-future world where artificial intelligence determines guilt and innocence.
Speaking at the New York Comic Con, the actor told fans that the decision to stay restrained wasn’t a directorial demand, but his own, adding, “...So I didn’t have to pretend that I was strapped down.”
He added, “I was cuffed to this chair both at the feet and at the hands. And for part of it with my head at the end when I’m about to be — well, I don’t wanna ruin the movie! — but, I’m strapped to this thing.”
