A crash has brought down a utility pole and is causing burning pavement on Route 4 in Burlington on Wednesday morning and the road is expected to be closed for an extended period of time.

Firefighters said the crash happened on Route 4 between Mountain Spring and Vineyard Road.

According to fire officials, the crash caused a broken utility pole and brought down wires. There's also reportedly a leaking transformer and burning pavement in the area.

The road is expected to remain closed for an extended period of time while DOT and Eversource make repairs. There's no estimate on the exact duration of that closure.

It's unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.
