SUFFOLK, Va. — Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to a fire early Wednesday morning at a building in the 300 block of Factory Street.
The fire happened shortly before 5 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they found flames involving a silo containing peanut hulls and an active fire in a hopper system at the back of the building. The fire also affected one tractor-trailer.
Fire crews worked with on-site maintenance technicians to control the blaze, preventing it from spreading to the main structure. The fire was declared under control at 6:05 a.m.
Officials said no one was injured.
