A car crashed into the former City Steam Brewery building in Hartford on Wednesday morning and at least one person has been taken into custody, according to police.

Officers said the crash happened on Main Street around 2:15 a.m. and at least one person in the vehicle evaded the scene.

The person who evaded the scene has since been taken into custody, police added. It's unclear exactly what charges he may face.

Firefighters described the damage to the building as significant. They said two parked vehicles, a city light pole and a solar parking meter were also damaged.

No injuries were reported.

City Steam Brewery closed back in 2024 after 26 years as City Steam and 18 years as Brown Thomson and Company.
