FORT MADISON, Iowa (KCRG) - The Iowa State Patrol says two kids were hurt when they were riding an electric bike and did not stop at an intersection.

The crash happened Tuesday evening at Avenue E and 20th Street in Fort Madison.

According to the report, the e-bike hit the front driver’s side of a Honda Civic driving through the intersection. Both kids were thrown off the bike.

A 9-year-old was air-lifted to University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City.

A 12-year-old was taken to the hospital in Fort Madison.

The 19-year-old driving the car was not injured.
