LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After months of work and a lengthy selection process, Louisville’s Community Safety Commission held its first official meeting Tuesday.

Commission representatives, the newly appointed independent monitor group and city officials discussed their plans to ensure the city's promised police reform continues.

The goal of the meeting was to establish relationships within the task force and outline actions to better the city’s Safe Louisville and Community Commitment plans.

Army veteran, senior pastor and CEO of RCB Health Corporation, René Brown, is one of the 23 members of Louisville’s Community Safety Commission . He said he thinks his experience, along with that of the other commission members, will help them approach police reform with a fresh perspective.
