The Hickory and East Lincoln football teams are both undefeated in the Western Foothills Athletic Conference.

That will change on Friday when Hickory travels to East Lincoln for a matchup between the No. 2 and No. 3 teams in the state's 5A rankings.

East Lincoln is undefeated in all games and is making it look easy. The Mustangs have won the team's six conference games this season by an average of 36 points. Hickory has a larger margin of victory. The Red Tornadoes have won their conference games by an average score of 48-8.

The Red Tornadoes have been tested. In the opener, failed extra point attempts stood between Hickory and a victory over No. 1 South Point. The team has improved since then.
