Lenoir-Rhyne baseball coach Adam Skonieczki has announced a number of staff promotions.

Micah Baumfeld has been named the team's associate head coach while Blake Bean has been added as a full-time assistant coach. In addition to those two promotions, former LR player Owen Blackledge will join the staff as a volunteer assistant for this upcoming season.

Baumfeld has been the Bears' pitching coach since he joined Lenoir-Rhyne in 2022. LR's pitching has consistently appeared near the top of the South Atlantic Conference in strikeouts and opposing batting average.

His 2025 staff tied the school record with eight shutouts and is second all-time with 562 strikeouts. In 2023, teams hit just .248 against the Bears, which is the third-best mark in program history. He has seen eight p
