TOLEDO, Ohio — Northwest Ohio-based Barry Bagels will expand to another state, making the total number of shops open or under development around the country more than 100.

Barry Bagels owner/CEO James Nusbaum announced on LinkedIn that the company had entered into an agreement with the state of Iowa. The agreement is expected to develop 20 Barry Bagels locations throughout the state. Nusbaum said the location of the first store in Iowa would be announced in the coming weeks.

Nusbaum said Barry Bagels' locations span Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and Texas. In June, Barry Bagels announced its expansion into Texas with 30 stores. Currently, according to the Barry Bagel website, most of its locations are in Ohio, while it has three open stores in Michigan, and two in Indiana and Kentuc
