A former technician at the FBI’s Los Angeles bureau is expected to plead guilty Wednesday to manipulating the outcome of bidding for contracts at the office, allowing his sister’s electronic companies to win at least $350,000 in equipment agreements.

Jeffrey Spencer, 51, of Canyon Country, and his sister, Christy Evereklian, 43, of Temecula, are both charged in Los Angeles federal court with conspiracy to defraud the United States.

In plea agreements filed with the court, Spencer and Evereklian both agreed to plead guilty to the felony offense, which carries a possible federal prison sentence of up to five years, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Spencer is expected to enter his plea Wednesday and Evereklian will do the same on Oct. 31 in downtown Los Angeles, court papers show.
