In the Vadodara Rural police’s first case under the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime (GUJCTOC) Act, officials Tuesday arrested five alleged members of a syndicate, including the family of bootlegger Rakesh alias Lala Jaiswal.
According to the FIR lodged Tuesday at the Varnama police station, Jaiswal and three members of his family – his wife, son, and brother – have been booked for allegedly running an organised crime syndicate involved in the sale and smuggling of illicit liquor.
Police said a total of 33 FIRs have already been registered against the five accused — including 31 against Jaiswal himself. His brother Hitesh alias Pappu faces 12 of the cases, wife Seema seven, son Sachin five, and associate Rajesh Baria alias Khanna three. The cases include charges of attemp
