A dozen of the best players in the area will look to make their mark on the biggest stage when the OHSAA state girls tennis tournament takes place Thursday and Friday at Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

Both the Division I and Division II tournaments will feature a pair of local singles players and doubles teams. Six players will be making a return trip to state, while six will be competing in the event for the first time.

Two area teams in Perrysburg and Maumee Valley Country Day will also be taking part in the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association state team tournament on Saturday at Mason High School. The Yellow Jackets are in the Division I tournament for the first time since 2018, while the Hawks are in their second straight Division II tournament.
