LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - As part of the department’s bi-weekly update Wednesday, LMPD leaders will give an update on the consent decree.

The group “Effective Law Enforcement For All” will be in charge of checking progress the department makes. The group previously helped New Orleans and Minneapolis Police make reforms.

LMPD is also expected to release details about a new Tri-City Police Academy. That’s a collaborative initiative including LMPD, Nashville, and Knoxville Police departments.

The Academy allows officers and professional staff to share best practices and build partnerships.

The Press Conference will begin at 11 a.m.
