HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - Good news for Hopkins County drivers!

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), all repairs to Brown Road, also known as KY 254, in Hopkins County have been completed, and the roadway is open to drivers.

Officials say Brown Road closed in September due to ground slides along around two and a half miles of roadway, around the 9 to 11.4 mile points. The KYTC explains slides happen when flood waters and other weather erode the ground beneath the roadway, causing it to "slide" out from under the road.

Officials note this area was heavily flooded twice earlier this year.
