Shillong, Oct 15: Laitkor avoided the danger of being relegated by easing past Sawmer 2-0 in their Shillong Premier League 2025 match at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here this evening.

Giovanni Syiemiong (30’) and Rikmenlang Nongrum (64’) scored a goal on either side of half time for Laitkor’s third win.

Victory took them to 11 points and fifth position, a rise of three places. Sawmer, on 9 points, dropped one spot to seventh. This was Laitkor’s last match while Sawmer still have one to go.

Giovanni found himself in some free space in the run-up to the goal, though he had Jeffrey Jyrwa, the Sawmer goalkeeper, come charging at him. However, he was able to get the ball past the custodian for the opening goal.
