A Manheim man charged with assaulting staff at UPMC Lititz caused a temporary lockdown of the emergency room Sunday evening, according to police.

Brian Keith Rineer, 57, is charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct after police said he threatened to kill hospital staff and had to be locked in a room.

Rineer was released on $50,000 unsecured bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 31. He did not have an attorney listed on his docket Tuesday.
