Kristi Noem's TSA message
Some major airports around the country are refusing to play a video message from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, in which she blames Democrats for the government shutdown and its impact on Transportation Security Administration operations, the Associated Press reports.
But at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), the message is playing on TSA-controlled monitors.
"Currently, the video is being played on monitors in TSA-leased spaces at DTW," Matt Morawski, director of communications at the Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA), tells Deadline Detroit in an email. "The TSA operates its own display monitors in the passenger screening checkpoints. These are not controlled by WCAA."
