A professional bare-knuckle boxer will serve no prison time after admitting he was under the influence of fentanyl in a 2019 crash in Salem County, New Jersey, that killed a woman and severely injured her husband.
Robert “Bobby” Gunn , 52, who had lived in Hackensack, pleaded guilty in August to third-degree charges of strict liability vehicular homicide and assault by auto in the death of Polly Tornari, 51, of Glassboro.
The plea deal Gunn made with prosecutors called for him to get probation in exchange for pleading guilty. A judge sentenced Gunn to four years of probation on Oct. 2. A second-degree vehicular homicide charge was dismissed.
Gunn has won several bare-knuckle boxing titles and was inducted into the sport’s hall of fame in 2015 .
