LAKE CARMEL – The Putnam County Legislature has approved the widening, adding of turning lanes, drainage, signalization and pedestrian improvements at the intersection of Route 311 and Terry Hill Road in Lake Carmel.

Meeting in special session Tuesday evening, the lawmakers said the multi-million dollar project would improve the “safety and capacity” at the busy intersection used by thousands of vehicles daily.

Putnam County will serve as lead agency with respect to the State Environmental Quality Review Act determining the project would not result in any significant adverse environmental impact.
