A deadly car explosion outside a shopping mall in Guayaquil, Ecuador killed at least one person and injured several others on Oct. 14, in what officials described as a terrorist act. Interior Minister John Reimberg said one vehicle detonated while another packed with explosives was safely neutralized. Fire crews and anti-explosives units responded with 16 ambulances as investigators worked to identify the attackers.
