A person died at Walt Disney World earlier this week of an "apparent suicide" near the Contemporary Resort hotel, officials said.
On Tuesday, Oct. 14, a body was found at the hotel near the Magic Kingdom park outside Orlando, Fla., Entertainment Weekly reported.
"This is an apparent suicide," a spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff's Office told the outlet, clarifying that, contrary to information circulating on social media, the person "was NOT struck by the monorail, so that is erroneous information."
When asked about footage that shows a white tent being set up on a balcony of the hotel and reports that the body was found on the tracks of the monorail, the spokesperson declined to comment further.
