NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - An investigation is underway following a hit-and-run in New Haven on early Wednesday morning.

At around 12:24 a.m. officers were called to the intersection of Ella T. Grasso Boulevard and Goffe Terrace after a report of a child struck by a car and fled, the police department said.

When crews arrived they saw there was a couple with their two kids.

It was revealed that the couple was walking at the crosswalk on Goffe Terrace with a stroller carrying their children when they were suddenly hit by a silver sedan.

Officials said one of the kids who is a 7-year-old suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in this incident.

The silver sedan fled the scene.
