SAMBA, OCTOBER 15: In view of the upcoming Diwali festival and as per the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, a market checking drive was conducted in main Bazaar Samba.
The drive was carried out by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs in coordination with all stakeholder departments to ensure quality assurance, price control and hygiene compliance during the festive season.
During the inspection, several violations were detected and on-spot fines amounting to ₹2,000 were imposed on defaulters. The drive aimed to safeguard consumer interests and maintain fair market practices ahead of Diwali.
