LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police are looking for two men who are accused of scamming an elderly man out of thousands of dollars.
On Oct. 8, the 86-year-old victim told officers that two men were walking door to door asking homeowners if they had any work at their house they could help with. This happened in a neighborhood near 61st and Benton streets.
Lincoln Police say the homeowner agreed to having his driveway repaired at the cost of $69. The victim says the men then told him it would be a total cost of $3,800 for the amount of materials needed. The victim agreed to this and paid the men cash. They said they would return the following day with a receipt and to do the work, but they never returned.
LPD says the scammers were driving a white Dodge Ram pickup.
