New England has been using Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson as its running back duo to begin the season. However, neither running back has taken control of the job, and with the running game struggling, the Patriots could make a move.
ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported on Wednesday that rival execs believe New England is looking to acquire a running back before the Nov. 4 trade deadline.
“Team execs have also pegged the Patriots among teams that could look to add a back in the coming weeks,” Fowler wrote in a piece on Wednesday.
Fowler lists Breece Hall and Jerome Ford as potential running backs who could be on the move ahead of the deadline.
