Josie Moore, a former mayoral candidate and city council member who helped lead the effort that resulted in former Cleveland Heights Mayor Kahlil Seren being recalled, was hired by his replacement, Mayor Tony Cuda, as special assistant to the mayor.
“Josie is super qualified, and that’s why I chose her,” Cuda told the Cleveland Jewish News. “Once I knew I was going to have a city administrator, I realized that person was going to need support in the office. And I knew I was going to need support because there are going to be a lot of demands on my time. I wanted somebody who was organized, really good with writing and quick-minded. Josie fit the bill.”
Cuda, who served as city council president since Jan. 1, 2022, took over on Oct. 1 for Seren, the city’s first elected mayor. Seren was r
